Healthcare industry research firm KLAS has honored Nuance's eScription medical speech recognition platform with its seventh straight Best in KLAS award, Nuance recently announced.
eScription scored an 89.8 to take the top spot in the speech recognition category of KLAS' annual awards. Vendors are honored based on customer feedback.
Ninety-eight percent of customers said they would buy eScription again. That figure is 12 percentage points higher than the second-highest ranked speech recognition solution, according to the KLAS report.
"Today, we’ve reduced report turnaround time by an average of 75 percent, realized significant cost savings and … we approach an annual run rate of 100 million lines through the platform," Jonathan Bowers, vice president of information services for Carolinas HealthCare System, said.
According to a Nuance review of past Best in KLAS winners, it is one of just four IT healthcare vendors to achieve seven straight awards. The company also said that the number of healthcare organizations deploying its medical speech recognition platform has grown 24 percent since last year.
Numerous Nuance products, as well as other tools and software for digital dictation and speech recognition deployments, are available from American Dictation. The website also provides tips and expertise on the technology
