Nuance Honors Top-Saving Healthcare Organizations

Enterprise speech recognition and dictation software vendor Nuance recently honored numerous healthcare organizations for exceptional use of its products. The company highlighted its customers at Conversations Healthcare 2010, an annual Nuance user conference.

The company named 39 organizations to the eScription Million Dollar Club, which was started in 2005. Members are recognized for saving $1 million or more on medical transcription costs using Nuance's products.

Collectively, the 39 new members have saved a total of $140 million, according to Nuance.

“While cost savings has been a tremendous benefit, and we’re honored to be recognized for our $14 million in savings, the customer service and speech recognition capabilities of Nuance’s solutions have also been incredible," Cindy Janick-Pederson, medical transcription manager for Aurora Health Care, said.

Eight organizations were also recognized for medical transcription productivity gains attained by deploying Dictaphone Enterprise Speech System and eScription. According to Nuance, these eight organizations experienced 100 percent increases in productivity compared to traditional transcription services.
