Conference Recording Helps Message Hit Home

Utilizing digital recorders and  microphones to record a conference can be beneficial for both the attendees and those holding the discussion.

However, the right tools are necessary to ensure the message of a conference is conveyed through the recording. American Dictation Corp. is an online source for all the equipment and tips necessary to successfully record a conference.

Says Paul Ross, of American Dictation "It is important to utilize the right kind of microphone.  Devices designed specifically for conference recording can pick up sound from a 360-degree radius.  But just having the right microphone isn't enough, it also needs to placed where all discussion can be captured. More than one may be required depending on the size of the gathering".

Of course, there also needs to be some sort of device to record the audio.  Digital recorders are preferable to analog or tape recorders.  Digital recorders are higher quality and offer benefits not available with tape, such as the ability to easily transfer the file to a computer.

With a digital recording of a conference, attendees can revisit the discussion at any time, while companies can distribute the recording to employees who weren't able to attend.

Features, such as indexing allow a typist to easily extract the minutes of other important parts of the meeting, without having to listen to the entire meeting.

"The current king of the hill is the Philips 955 conference recording kit, with four table top boundary microphones and a high quality digital recorder." states Ross.  Pictured below, the kit includes a professional recorder, the four microphones, memory card, docking/charging cradle, rechargeable batteries, software and a wired remote control unit, all in a quality aluminum case.

Philips has essentially made the old hard wired meeting recording systems obsolete, all for under a thousand dollars.
